Vampires, werewolves real!
November 2009
Unless you’re locked away in Dracula’s castle, you know that the latest teen vampire/werewolf flick, New Moon, opens today. But did you know there is scientific evidence for real vampires and werewolves? Yep!
Here’s an excerpt from The Why Files:
“Are there really ghosts?” was the number one question in my survey of junior- and senior-high students concerning the supernatural. Ghost stories have been around since Bible times, so there must be something to them—or at least to the stories.
But before I share what I think about ghosts, let me admit that I do believe in the possbilility of vampires and werewolves. Really!
According to the Assocatiated Press, Dr. David Dolphin of the University of British Columbia presented an eerie report to the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Dolphin has been studying a rare disease known as “porphyria” which may have prompted folk tales of werewolves and vampires. Porphyria victims’ bodies are unable to produce heme, the red pigment in blood hemoglobin.
“It is our contention that blood-drinking vampires were in fact victims of porphyria, trying to alleviate the symptoms of their dreaded disease.” Without heme the skin becomes extremely sensitive to sunlight. “Exposure to even mild sunlight can be devastating,” according to Dolphin. Thus, all the hoaky horror flicks about creatures of the night.
But what about the transformation from mild-mannered man to hairy creature? Sunlight causes skin sores that can so deform hands that they slowly begin to resemble paws. Lips and gums become taut, exposing the teeth. And to complete the werewolf look, the body tries to protect itself from light by increased hair growth.
Okay, Doc, but what about the stories of repelling vampires and werewolves with garlic? Dolphin’s research shows that, for some reason, porphyria victims are also violently allergic to the spaghetti seasoning.
So, there you have it! Scientific evidence for vampires and werewolves.

Are vampires really real and werewolf as well? Are all the myths real.
No. The myths of vampires and werewolves originated with the real medical conditions that were extremely exaggerated.
But are they real
They are….it’s not some weird disease that’s not common enough to leave a dint as big as those myths.
Vampires are simply the living dead.Evil magic. While werewolves…are simply the bond between mind, over body and animal and human going beyond explaining.
A human turning into a werewolf is a human who has the physical ability to change. We have all the same bones and muscles. They just need to grow, shrinks and change to form us into wolves.
Vampires are simply humans who have been dead and are back as a result….of Dark matters….the sun is a myth.
But the blood is a asset for body function sense it can’t produce its own quick enough.
Thanks for sharing, but I’ll stick to the scientific explanation.
In my opinion they are Demons
They are real I know a vampire cross wolf and I’m the same but mostly wolf we are not called werewolves that is a stupid name they called us we are friendly and we’re is the proof we are not real this is all the truth belive a young wolf x vampire am the alpha to my pack
I have big hope that werewolves are real
I don’t want to meet one late at night during a full moon!
Would you be a werewolf or a vampire
I have believed in werewolves and vampires but my family think that they are a myth. I just want some proof that they still walk among us
Thanks for your comment. As I mentioned, there is evidence for medical conditions on which the stories of vampires and werewolves are based, but there is no proof to base their portrayal in novels and films.
i have heard that if you are the seventh male in the family them there is a 50 per cent chance you could be a werewolf. is this true or have someone made this up
Thanks for your comment. As I mention in my post, I do believe there are some medical conditions that create excessive hair and bared teeth, but there is a 100 percent chance that the seventh son will be human.
