Encouragement for ministers

Every minister needs encouragement following a brutal board meeting, a message that went down in flames, a church furnace that died on Saturday night in January, or one of the many moments of discouragement and disillusionment. I've included some of the quotations and scriptures that I have found helpful on those days I'd rather be a greeter at Wal-Mart than a minister. (And I've included some of my own observations.)

For we speak as messengers who have been approved by God to be entrusted with the Good News. Our purpose is to please God, not people. He is the one who examines the motives of our hearts.
