Mr. Rogers’ ‘Terrible day in neighborhood’
I’m sure that even Mr. Rogers had one of those days:
It’s a terrible day in the neighborhood,
A terrible day for neighbor,
Won’t you please go, leave me all alone.
I’ve always wanted to move away to warmer weather,
I hate this TV house and this stupid sweater.
So why don’t you go and watch “Power Rangers”
Play in the street and talk to some strangers?
Please won’t you go, leave me alone.
Get off my lawn, my neighbor!

Aww.. I love Mr. Rogers. My son, Daniel, who is on the autism spectrum, would not watch any children’s educational TV, except Mr. Rogers. I think it was his calm demeaner. As soon as Daniel heard that little ,”ding ding” from the train, he’d run in, sit down and not move until it was over. Great memories.
Yes, Mr. Rogers respected kids enough to talk to them without having to resort to flashy graphics, music or video effects to keep their attention. He was certainly an original!
