Love Across the Distance

Richard Acquaah-Harrison
Love Over the Distance is about a Christian romance that develops in the 1960s across continents and
cultural boundaries. Kofi Abban, a Ghanaian student at Durham University, England, attends an Inter-varsity Christian
Fellowship conference and sees Judith Simmons, a Bermudian studying at the University of London.
They meet a few times and Kofi returns to Ghana, head over heels in love with Judith, who is not aware of his
serious romantic interest. Wooing Judith, mainly through letters, becomes Kofi’s greatest challenge; a test of faith
and patience.
“A wonderful love story. There are powerful elements fanning the flames of the over the distance courtship:
a mutual love and understanding of music, a knowledge of scriptures together with the application of its
message to everyday practice and a commitment to a way of life steeped in the awareness of God.
The letters, which are lively and loving, are priceless. The literary references and the beauty of the
language are impressive.”
Dr. Dorothy M. Thompson, Antigonish, Nova Scotia, Canada.
“Fascinating”
Paul Beech, Literary Critic and Stage Actor, London, England.
